The Melting Pot Still Reigns #1

Print

First, let me just say that The Melting Pot is by far my favorite
place {ever!} to eat! If you have never been there, boy are you
missing out on something special!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Brian and I made a special trip back to The Melting Pot
this past weekend to get our "fondue fix" and it was
as yummy as it always is. We have been quite a few times,
and have finally developed our "favorites"... and see no
reason in fixing something that isn't broken!

Our Fav Cheese Fondue: Cheddar Cheese

Our Fav Salad: California
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
 Our Fav Chocolate Fondue:
White Chocolate Creme Brulee
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Dippers For Chocolate Fondue: Strawberries & bananas sprinkled
with cinnamon, graham cracker & oreo marshmallows, pound
cake, brownies, cheesecake & Rice Krispie treats.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The only "negative" to this restaurant is that it can be a bit pricey.
{It's NOT cheap} But, I will also say it is SO worth it. AND...
you can visit Restaurant.com and purchase a $25 gift certificate
for only $10. That really IS a bargain!

Chocolate Chip Cheese Dip

Print

This dip is quick and easy, and if you bake much,
you probably already have most of the ingredients you need
on hand. I like to serve this dip with either vanilla wafers or
plain graham crackers... something that won’t compete with the
richness and sweetness of the dip.
Chocolate Chip Cheese Dip
  • 1 8oz package of cream cheese, softened
  • ½ c. butter, softened
  • ¾ c. confectioners sugar
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • ¼ t vanilla
  • ¾ c. miniature chocolate chips
  • ¾ c. chopped pecans, optional
Mix butter and cream cheese until smooth.
Add sugars and vanilla, then fold in chips and nuts.
Chill for at least two hours before serving.

{Gooey Butter Cake}

Well, as the old Southern Kitchen saying goes...
"Everything is better with butter!"
and that ain't no lie! Just ask Paula Deen.
If, by some twist of bad fate, you have never had this
Gooey Butter Cake before... please do the world a favor
and TRY IT!

It is so super easy to make and it's quick.
There are so many different "variations" of this
recipe that I have still yet to try them all. I think my favorite is still just
the plain 'ol Gooey Butter Cake original.
Below the recipe I have listed several of the
"other" versions, if you're interested.
Let me know which one is YOUR fav!!
